Acid Rain World x New Balance Exhibition

"ACID RAIN WORLD” Exhibition: A Timely Reflection on Environmental Awareness Set in a dystopian parallel universe. “ACID RAIN WORLD” is an original story created by Kit Lau. Hong Kong’s celebrated graphic designer, illustrator and animation designer, presenting an impactful reminder on the awareness of climate change. The theme coincides with one of New Balance’s core concerns for the climate crisis caused by environmental pollution, and their persistent efforts in green practices, sustainability initiatives, the increasing use of recycled or green materials, and many more. Collaborating with New Balance, Kit Lau seeks to a limited time only, Grey Zone, the new exhibition space inside New Balance Grey Store, Causeway Bay, will be hoe to the new “ACID RAIN WORLD” exhibition, a creative event which offers a timely reflection on the alarming state of the Earth, a call on the irrevocable damage caused by greed and exploitation to our nature. 

Kit Lau created a new character especially for this exhibition, and made the mecha vehicle into a 1:1 life-size giant collectible statue as a limited display in the Grey Store. In addition, Kit Lau has dedicated special themed paintings for the exhibition, in which the cyborg is driven by plants. The scientist’s idea is that after the cyborgs have completed their missions, they will return to the soil that nurtured them, and the seeds stored in their bodies will grow plants again, giving back to the Mother Earth who nurtured them. The painting is a message that humans do not dominate the land, but coexist in balance with it.
